Provide Value or Get Slapped! Are You Part of the Problem?

Do you currently provide value on the internet?

If you have been wondering how internet marketers stand out in today’s crowded marketplace you need to start with that question. This is becoming a massive topic of late as the extreme popularity of the internet has taken our world by storm. You are seeing new millionaires pop up weekly simply by going viral over silly YouTube videos or niche product launches. It’s clear that more and more people are flocking to the internet to conduct business.

What does this mean for you and me? Well it means a few things, none more important than what will always happen in any industry. The best always rise to the top. No matter what industry, trade, or profession. The people that know what they are doing and consistently help other people will always be the most successful. It’s no different in our world of internet marketing. Will you learn what it takes to be the best and do things right? Will you sacrifice and put in the hard work necessary to reach the highest level? I’m talking about millions upon millions in profits waiting to be earned.Google Slap

What you are seeing today is the major search engines fighting back against all the posers clogging up our industry. Google for the past year has really cracked down on rogue marketing tactics in pay per click and now article marketing. The Google slap has now been placed on article directories, in particular that of the world’s largest Ezine.com. The reason is that too many people are putting up crap with little relevance and wanting to take short cuts just for a quick buck. Their warning- provide value or else.

Google’s business model is to provide the best, most reliable information for their search engines and paid advertisers. This cannot be done with every Joe Don, Dick, and Sue Ellen hiring ghost writers to slap up 4oo word articles with links leading to irrelevant websites. The Google slap surfaced again and they slapped hard by removing keyword indexes from Ezine and other article farms. You are still able to leave your website link in the Author Bio box which will get you traffic, if you provide real value.

But what this means is that only the real marketers who care about their customers and who know how to provide value will prosper. Not only will they prosper, they will explode over the next few years as Google ranks this valuable content organically higher than virtually everything else. This will without a doubt catapult the best to the top and they will stay there for a long time.

So what are the main tips that can help you be a real, lasting internet marketer?

Learn the proper way to use article directories for one. You will now need to provide 500 word articles at minimum. If you can’t do this then you need to research more on your topic. Also stop clogging your articles with keywords to improve your rank. This is also part of the Google slap because of marketers putting out garbage information with keywords being used far too much. Keywords are still needed and can be repeated, just tone it down to a much smaller percentage if you want to get a good score from search engines.

Rumors have also circulated that sites such as the popular Squidoo.com and Hubpages.com have suffered as well. I can tell you that the best pages on these sites with valuable content are still crushing it with traffic. Why? Search engines want GREAT content. Other extremely effective ways to build your brand and effectively market is in forums and blogs. You need to get out there and interact with people. Share information and get to know people. Do NOT, and I mean Do Not push your product, opportunity, or stupid sales pitch in these. You could, but you will get deleted or banned from the community. Provide value! Sound familiar?

I notice many mistakes in social media as well which is growing out of control. Listen guys, this is about building relationships with other people and helping them solve problems. Again, you need to provide value to others. You cannot do this by blasting your stuff all over Twitter or Facebook all day long. I have un-follow people every day because of this and my list isn’t even that big. Let me know who you are and what you are all about before you go trying to sell, sell, sell all the time. I thought they got rid of cheesy used car salesmen years’ back?

Do yourself and the rest of the internet marketing world a huge favor. Study the proper ways to use the internet which will grow your business, and most of all provide value to others.

Peace,

  • That’s a big problem plastered all over the internet for sure…posting up content that is SO irrelevant to the headline.

    Hmmm…spam anyone?

Great to know I’m not contributing to the problem :-)

Many people look for shortcuts and the magic pill but don’t learn anything from it when their results are non-existent. Those are the same people we never hear about because they don’t rise up to to the top. I just roll my eyes and move forward.

Thanks for posting a valuable piece Adventure Free.

I heard Ezine was slapped real hard when the Google panda start it operation. And many other Article directory site received a good slapping. Google where trying to give its user the most valuable and most accurate answer to our search. So its really pays to put some quality content. After all its for our own good.
